Welcome to the Office of Research! The Office of Research provides services and support to faculty and staff in the acquisition and administration of projects funded within and outside UMDNJ. The Mission of the Office of Research is
to provide an infrastructure dedicated to facilitating research and research-related activities of faculty, administration, students and staff within SHRP. This structure includes administrative support for activities that advance the research enterprise of the School.
The Office of Research, located in the Newark campus, serves as the centralized office for all grants activities and contracts with a sub award agreement. Please check periodically the research website as we transition this year and review our initial announcement regarding the UMDNJ/RU integration.
The Office of Research is responsible for:
• To SUPPORT investigators at SHRP by pre-submission review of their applications for extramural funding (pre-award process)
• To ENSURE that final draft documents supplied to legal Management are complete and in compliance with UMDNJ policies (sub awards)
• To ENABLE SHRP faculty to be current with new initiatives which could potentially impact their applications for funding support (e.g. electronic submission to the NIH changes to application packets)
• To ADVOCATE for SHRP faculty with offices supporting the research enterprises (e.g. IRB, Grants and Contracts, Legal Management and the UMDNJ-Foundation
• To ADMINISTER research-related programs (e.g. summer student research; Foundation Grants; Educational Research Grants)
• To MONITOR IRB status
• To TRACK proposals and PRODUCE reports in the Coeus system
• To PROMOTE interdisciplinary collaboration
