Electronic Research Administration

Conducting research administration in an integrated and automated environment. It encompasses
both pre-and post award processes that involve the administrative and regulatory aspects of grants.

 

NSF’s portal to submit grant applications, request no-cost extensions, and progress reports

  • Grants.gov
    Grants.gov is your source to FIND and APPLY for federal government grants.

 

…single, unified storefront for all customers of federal funds to electronically find funding opportunities and electronically apply for funds

 

Individuals are not required to register with Grants.gov – Institutions must register. SHRP is already registered. For NIH grants, applicants must be registered with the eRA Commons in order to submit a grant electronically.

  • eRA Commons - Electronic Research Administration
    A meeting place used by a community as a whole, especially for the exchange of information. For the purposes of exchanging research grants administration information, the NIH provides this "Commons".

NIH portal used for various functions of grant management, including electronic submission of applications. This portal can also be used by PI and post- and pre-award staff.

A few of the functions of eRA Commons include submitting eSNAP progress reports, JIT, no-cost extensions, PI can also check reviewer comments, and  check grant status.

Registration with eRA Commons is completed by the Office of Research. See Contact list on the homepage.

The Electronic Research Administration (ERA) Commons is a virtual meeting place where NIH extramural grantee organizations, grantees, and the public can receive and transmit information about the administration of biomedical and behavioral research. The ERA Commons is divided into both unrestricted and restricted portions that provide for public and confidential information, respectively.

PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 18 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to 1948. PubMed includes links to full text articles and other related resources.
