1. Now we are going to activate your university email account. You should be at the SHRP New Student Orientation homepage. If you’re not, log into WebCT and click the SHRP New Student Orientation course link.
2. Click Orientation Content Module Menu.
3. Next click Required.
4. Click UMDNJ Email Account, located under the Table of Contents.
5. After reading the instructions you may click New Email Account Activation at the bottom of the page.
6. Click Continue to open the New Account Activation Information System form
7. Enter your assigned account name, which is the UMDNJ user ID that you used for logging in to both WebCT and my.UMDNJ.
8. Next you must select your campus host. This should be polaris, but you should confirm the correct host by checking the Email Account Creation letter you received from Enrollment Services.
9. Finally enter your PIN which should have also been included in the letter you received from Enrollment Services.
10. When all the information has been completed click the Submit button.
11. Next, choose a Password and enter it twice. See the top of the page for more information about choosing a password.
12. Click Submit when you’re finished. The system may take a couple of minutes to activate your account, so please be patient. When you get a message saying your account has been activated, click the Close button to continue.
13. The previous window can now be closed by clicking Quit.
Your UMDNJ email account is now activated. Remember, you can always check your email by logging into my.UMDNJ and clicking the email icon or, if you have a Polaris account, you can go to https://mail.umdnj.edu/. When you are prompted for a password, make sure you enter the same email password that you just set up. Also make sure your browser doesn't have a pop-up blocker enabled.
