Elluminate Live!
Before You Begin
Welcome to SHRP's Elluminate Live information page! Elluminate Live! is an online collaboration tool that allows users to conduct live web-conferencing. All you need is a computer that meets the minimum requirements, a broadband internet connection (eg. DSL, cable modem, Fiber......) and a headset (with a built-in microphone) , and a webcam (if needed).
  It is very important that you use a headset (pictured to the left) with Elluminate Live and NOT your external PC speakers. You can also use basic headphones (such as those from an MP3 player) if your webcam has a built-in microphone. But please note that external PC speakers (like the ones pictured to the right or ones that are built into a laptop) will cause echo for all other participants.
Getting Started
Click here to verify that your computer has the required software to launch Elluminate live! If you do not have the correct version of Java, the Java installer will start automatically but may need your permission to proceed. Make sure you have rights to update the software in your computer, otherwise contact your system administrator. You will see a green checkmark if the upgrade succeeded.
Proceed to Step 2 to complete your setup by clicking the link to Configuration Room. Configure your Audio and Set your Connection Speed.
Exit the Configuration Room session.
Using Elluminate Live!

To join your Elluminate Live! session, follow the directions provided to you by your Session Moderator or SHRP Elluminate Administrator. A “link” will be provided to you for the Elluminate Room assigned to your session. Add this “link” to your browser’s Favorites, especially if you will use this room again. When you have multiple Elluminate Live! rooms, make sure to label them in your browser’s Favorites appropriately.

Start by clicking the “link” to your assigned Elluminate Room. If you’re joining as a Participant, you will be prompted to enter your Name. Please enter your First and Last Name in the space provided and click Login.

Once logged-in to the session, all participants must run the Audio Wizard Set-up. Make sure that your headset is connected properly to the audio terminals of your computer. Click on Tools>Audio>Audio Wizard Set-up.
The Audio Set-up Wizard will set the correct microphone and audio playback levels (If audio problems still persists, check the head phone and microphone connections. It is required to use a HEADSET in every Elluminate Live session! Failure to use a headset will result in audio problems during the session! |

Elluminate Live! Interface:
The Elluminate Live! session involves familiarity with the following User Interface: Toolbar, Whiteboard, Participants , Chat and Audio Windows . In cases where video is necessary, participants can use a webcam and enable a Video Window. Moderator Interface will have more options.
