UMDNJ - SHRP: Department of Primary Care
The Department of Primary Care offers a diversified group of programs ranging from associate degree to masters level with locations in northern, central, southern New Jersey and the internet. The Department includes the Physician Assistant Program, Respiratory Therapy Program and the Institute for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
Two associate degree respiratory therapy programs are offered, one in Newark and the other in Stratford. Each program has multiple community college partners. Graduates of the program receive an Associate in Science. There are also two bachelors degree options offered in respiratory therapy. On the Newark Campus, a baccalaureate degree program is offered in allied health technologies in conjunction with four-year colleges. The Department also offers an M.S. Physician Assistant Program. Students who have earned a baccalaureate degree and prerequisite course work may be admitted to the program directly or students may enter the BA/MS program articulated with UMDNJ and affiliated universities. In addition, the Department in collaboration with the Department for Interdisciplinary Studies offers an Integrative Health and Wellness track within the Masters of Health Sciences program. This track, which is directed by the Institute for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, offers a MSHS for those students wishing to focus on the area of complementary, alternative or integrative medicine and wellness.
