Barbara Gladson PT, PhD OTR
Dr.
Gladson received her BS degree in Occupational Therapy from the
University of Pennsylvania in 1979 her MS in Physical Therapy
from Columbia University in 1985 and her PhD in Pharmacology from
the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1999.
Dr. Gladson is an Associate Professor who teaches in both the entrylevel
and postprofessional DPT programs. Her past research includes
electrophysiological studies on ion channels responsible for certain
neuroendocrine secretory processes particularly the release of glucagon
in diabetes. She has also conducted clinical research in the area
of hand surgery and rehabilitation particularly on wrist injuries
and chronic regional pain syndromes. She is on the Editorial Board
of the Journal of Hand Therapy and has been an item writer for the
Hand Certification Examination.
Dr. Gladsons areas of teaching include medical pathophysiology
medical screening hand kinesiology and rehabilitation
and pharmacology.
