I. PURPOSE
This policy establishes the key contents
of the admissions package and describes general procedures for processing letters
of disposition.
II. ACCOUNTABILITY
Under the direction of the Associate
Dean for Academic Affairs and Research, the Program directors and the Assistant
Dean for Enrollment Services are responsible for compliance with the policy.
III. POLICY
In general, all applicants with completed
SHRP applications are issued letters of disposition (acceptance, conditional
acceptance or rejection) prior to the date of initial enrollment.
The
admissions acceptance packet consists of the following items:
- Letter of acceptance or conditional
acceptance signed by the SHRP Dean's Office;
- Applicant's action sheet, indicating
the deadline for acceptance and directions for submitting the following:
- Medical evaluation/immunization
record form
- Tuition deposit
- Requirements for graduation form
- Health insurance
- Criminal background check
- Applicant Response Sheet
Letters
of rejection may be signed by the SHRP Dean's Office.
PROCEDURE:
- Program directors are sent a copy
of the application file from Enrollment Services.
- After the admissions decision is made,
each Program Director notifies Enrollment Services of the
status of the applicant.
- The Assistant Dean for Enrollment
Services reviews the letter, action sheet and file and assigns residency/citizenship
status.
- The SHRP Dean's Office signs the letter
if the file is in order.
- The original letter and enclosures
are mailed to the applicant. Copies of the acceptance letter are sent to the
program, financial aid and partnering institutions.
- Rejection letters are signed and mailed
by Enrollment Services.
