Course Description: |
Facing fast increasing amount of information available in electronic formats, the bio-pharmaceutical sector needs ways of dealing with and managing the volume of data stored and exchanged. XML’s extensibility and interoperability make it an ideal format for sharing data between multiple sources. Indeed, XML and its associated technologies are going to play very essential roles in the data management, information retrieval, knowledge management, and FDA submission related processes in single and multi-center clinical trial data management. To meet this imminent need for the health informatics students to be employable in the bio-pharmaceutical sectors this course focuses on XML its setup, editing, validation and transformation for use in the Health and the Bio-Pharmaceutical Sectors. The overall goal of this course is to provide students with the essential concepts and techniques of employing XML (Extensible Markup Language) and associated technologies in the management of data of importance in the bio-pharmaceutical sectors. |
