Cytotechnology
Retraining
This
program is specifically designed
to provide additional training
to individuals who previously
graduated from cytotechnology
programs which were not accredited
by the Committee on Allied Health
Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).
Cytotechnology Retraining graduates
meet the eligibility requirements
for cytotechnologists employed
by laboratories that evaluate
cytologic smears collected from
patients in New York as well as
for the American Society for Clinical
Pathologists (ASCP) certification
in cytotechnology. Training can
be modified to meet the needs
of inactive cytotechnologists
who are required to update their
theory and professional skills
before reentering the job market.
Retraining is offered on an individualized
basis. For further information
contact Dr.
Cecilia Vallejo.
