Ms. Sadley received her Bachelor of Science
degree in Health and Physical Education from The College of New Jersery (formerly
Trenton State College) in 1974. She taught Health and Physical Education and
coached various girls' sports teams at Hamilton High School East in Hamilton
Township, NJ for the next 6 years. During those years, she also pursued her
interest in the emergency medicine area by taking and teaching many CPR, First
Aid, and Water Safety classes.
From 1980-83 she attended the University
of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and Rutgers University (RU)
Physician Assistant program and received her Bachelor of Science in Physician
Assistant degree. After graduation she worked as a house officer PA in the
Department of Medicine for two years at Delaware County Memorial Hospital
in Pennsylvania (PAs were not yet licensed to work in NJ!) The next 8 years
were spent developing and directing Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation programs
at two community hospitals in the Trenton area.
In 1993, Carol accepted a position as
a full-time faculty member at the UMDNJ-RU Physician Assistant Program where
she is now an Associate Professor. In 1997 she received her Master of Education
degree from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University. She also
was awarded the Excellence in Teaching certificate from the School of Health
Related Professions (SHRP). In addition to teaching full-time, Carol maintains
her clinical skills by working part-time at the Pleasant Run Family Physician's
practice as a Primary Care PA. She also teaches the EKG Use & Interpretation
course for Rutgers University.
