Ms. Palfreyman joined the faculty in January
1998. She received her undergraduate degree in Speech Communications from
The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and is a 1996 graduate
of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and Rutgers
University (RU) Physician Assistant Program. Her clinical experience includes
Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens in
Flushing, New York. She continues to work at NYHQ on a per diem basis. Prior
to becoming a physician assistant, Ms. Palfreyman was employed by Johnson
and Johnson where she worked as a surgical instrument and pharmaceutical sales
representative.
Ms. Palfreyman teaches a variety of courses
in the Physician Assistant Program. Her main responsibilities include directing
Medical Interviewing and Human Development as well as teaching Physical Diagnosis
and Clinical Correlations. In addition, she provides several lectures on women's
health. She is also a contributing editor for the textbook, Primary Care
for Physician Assistants.
Ms. Palfreyman is an active member of
various professional organizations including the New Jersey State Society
of Physician Assistants (NJSSPA). She has presented at the national conference
of the Association of Physician Assistant Programs (APAP). She was recently
appointed as President of the New Jersey Physician Assistant Foundation (NJPAF),
a philanthropic organization serving the medically underserved population
of New Jersey. In addition, Ms. Palfreyman is active in several charitable
organizations within her community including The March of Dimes and The United
Way.
