The Regional Trauma Center at Jersey Shore University Medical Center is seeking a physician assistant for a full-time position. This is a state designated, American College of Surgeons verified, Level II trauma center located at the Jersey shore. The medical center recently underwent a $300 million expansion, which includes a state of the art Trauma Center and Emergency Department. Furthermore, the medical center is home to the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. The physician assistant will join a group of six surgeons and three midlevel practitioners (2 PA’s and 1 NP) to provide in-house coverage of the Trauma Center and Surgical ICU. This is truly a friendly environment with flexibility in the schedule and the opportunity for each PA to gain independence as a practitioner, yet have comprehensive physician backup.
Responsibilities Include:
Inpatient floor and SICU/PICU rounds
Surgical first assist
Trauma Room response
Invasive bedside and OR procedures
Medical education
Involvement in multi-specialty trauma rounds
Involvement in local/state disaster preparedness
