Answers
I never received my
Web Registration PIN, how do I register now?
Active Students:
If you are an active student (enrolled in previous
Spring or Fall term) )and did not receive your
registration PIN, you should contact Enrollment
Services who can provide you with your registration
PIN immediately.
Inactive Students:
If you are inactive for the current or previous
semester(s), you should be in contact with Enrollment
Services to update your status and to request
a web registration PIN.
Please note that students in Clinical Nutrition
programs (MS, DCN and PhD-Health Sciences with
Clinical Nutrition track) should contact their
Program Director or Academic Advisor.
All my classes are
required (pre-set); do I need to register myself?
No, if you are in a block-registered program
such as Associate in Science - Respiratory Care
or Doctor of Physical Therapy - Entry Level
or , you will not need to register yourself.
Enrollment Services will register students matriculating
in block-registered programs. If you are unsure
of which type of registration-structured program
you are in, you should contact either your Program
Director/Advisor or Enrollment Services.
What's the time frame
for the Add/Drop period?
You may add a course prior to the start of
the third class and only in the first week.
For a short-term course, it is at the discretion
of the instructor and Program Director.
You may drop a course without the course appearing
on the transcript prior to the third meeting
of the class.
During the Add/Drop period, you must submit
an Add/Drop form
to your Program Director or to the course instructor
for approval.
Where can I find
SHRP's upcoming registration dates?
Registration dates are available online on SHRP's
Registration
Dates webpage. Registration Dates are available
several weeks before the start of Priority Registration.
Priority Registration is for matriculated students.

I want to take a course
at Thomas Edison State College (TESC), what
should I do?
If you are in the Bachelor of Science - Health
Sciences (BSHS) Program with Thomas Edison State
College and you are interested in enrolling
in a course at TESC, you should review the Joint
Program Registration Procedures webpage to
learn the procedures. This webpage also includes

Can I register for
my Thomas Edison State College (TESC) course
through TESC instead of UMDNJ-SHRP?
No, if you are matriculating in the BSHS joint
program, you should always register directly
through SHRP Enrollment Services.
What is the procedure
for registering for a TESC course through Enrollment
Services?
Matriculating students in the BSHS program
should submit a Course
Registration Form directly to Enrollment
Services for all TESC courses. Registrations
should include the following:
* Month the course will begin (i.e. July 2007)
* Subject Code (ART)
* Course Number (101)
* Section Code (GS)
* Course Title (A WORLD OF ART)
* Number of Credits (3)
You may confirm your registration using TESC's
MyEdison Web Services and after you have been
registered on the UMDNJ side, you may view your
registration within your My.UMDNJ account. You
will not be able to view TESC courses under
the UMDNJ Schedule of Courses.
Withdrawal
from Course and Withdrawal from SHRP Answers
What are the procedures
for withdrawing from a course or SHRP? Is the
Program Director's signature required?
You must submit a Change
of Student Status form to Enrollment Services
for approval, which will then be forwarded to
Enrollment Services. If you officially withdraw
from a course, you will have the appropriate
tuition reassessed and refunded to your account
(if applicable). If you officially withdraw
from the school, you will be eligible to have
your Graduation Fee credited back to their account.
How late can I withdraw
from my course(s)?
For the course withdrawal schedule, please
review the Change
of Student Program Status on the SHRP website.
What if I decide to
withdraw when I have an Incomplete?
If you officially withdraw from SHRP,
any course that you have a grade of either "I"
or "IP" will be converted to a final
grade of "WI".
Grades/Transcripts/Certifications
Answers
My professor said
that my grade was submitted earlier this week.
Why does it not appear updated when I look on
my My.UMDNJ account?
Grades are posted to student accounts the day
following the official day that Final Grades
are Due (as indicated on the Academic
Calendar). You should revisit your My.UMDNJ
accounts periodically to see if your grades
have been updated. If your grade has not been
posted 2 weeks after the final day grades are
to be submitted by the faculty, please follow-up
with your course instructor.
Who do I contact
to find out if my transfer credits have been
received and posted?
Once a Transfer
Credit Evaluation form is approved by the
Program Director and the Associate Dean for
Academic Affairs and Research, it will then
be forwarded to Enrollment Services for processing.
Once Transfer Credit has been entered, it will
appear on your official transcript and viewed
through your My.UMDNJ account.
I retook a course
and received a higher grade but my GPA has not
been recalculated? How can I have this corrected?
Please contact Enrollment Services at (973)
972-5454 to request your student records to
be updated.
How can I get a verification
that I attended UMDNJ and how would I know if
my verification went out?
You should submit an Enrollment
/ Graduation Verification Request form
to Enrollment Services and may follow-up with
Enrollment Services after two business days.
I am eligible
to receive funding through the GI Bill. What
do I need to do?
Once you have registered and see that you have
been billed on your UMDNJ account, you should
should submit an Enrollment
/ Graduation Verification Request form
to Enrollment Services and indicate that you
are a recipient of the G. I. Bill. Please also
visit our Certification for
Veteran Student Programs
webpage for more details pertaining to
this program as well as other Veterans Affairs
(VA) program.
I am under the
VA and in the Vocational Rehabilitation program
with the VA. How do I handle my billing?
Once you have registered for your courses and
see that you have been billed on your UMDNJ
account, you should should should submit an
Enrollment / Graduation
Verification Request form to Enrollment
Services. For more information on this process,
visit our Certification for
Veteran Student Programs webpage under
the Vocational Rehabilitation Program paragraph.
What semesters are
students certified for Loan deferment forms?
Lenders may seek certifications for
any of the three SHRP terms: Spring, Summer
or Fall.
Billing
Answers
I
haven't received my bill yet, what should I
do next?
You may review your financial accounts online
using My.UMDNJ or you may request a hard copy
of your bill by contacting the Cashier's Office
at (973) 972-6307.
Who
should I contact if I am experiencing a problem
with my bill?
With questions regarding your bill, you should
first contact the UMDNJ Cashier's Office at
(973) 972-6307. If the Cashier's Office is unable
to assist you, please contact Enrollment Services
at (973) 972-5454.
Am I charged Program Fees and Technology Fees
each semester? If so, what are the amount of
fees I should expect to be paying?
You are charged Program Fees and Technology
Fees each semester as these fees are attached
to your courses. Please visit the Tuition
and Fees informational webpage to determine
the current fee structure. Tuition and Fees
traditionally may change at the beginning of
each Academic Year (Fall semester) )and are
subject to change per approval by the UMDNJ
Board of Trustees.
Graduation
and Commencement Answers
What do I need
to do to apply for graduation?
You will need to submit an Application
for Graduation to Enrollment Services by
the appropriate deadlines:
January Graduates - September 15th
May and September Graduates - December 1st

When is the last day
I can submit coursework to be eligible for my
graduation date?
You may submit coursework to your program up
until your actual graduation date. If any coursework
is turned in at a later time or any modifications
are made to previously submitted coursework,
it will result in your graduation date being
moved to a later date. PhD
Candidates must defend their dissertation
at leasst a month before graduation.
What happens if I will
not be able to complete my requirements by my
expected graduation date?
If you do not complete your academic requirements
by your expected graduation date, you must re-submit
an Application
for Graduation form for the next graduation
period. There are three SHRP graduation dates
each year: January, May and September. There
will not be a charge or fee assessed for reapplying
for graduation or pushing back a graduation
date (from the same program).
I am in a Joint Program,
do I need to apply for graduation at both schools?
Which school will provide me with my diploma?
You must apply for graduation to both of your
institutions by the appropriate deadlines.
When you graduate, you will receive your certificate/diploma
from the school that you pay tuition. If you
pay tuition to an affiliate school, you will
be billed a $40.00 Graduation fee from SHRP.
If you are a student that pays tuition directly
to UMDNJ, then you will be billed a $80.00 Graduation
fee and will received your grades, transcripts
and your certificate/diploma from SHRP Enrollment
Services. All graduates from the School of Health
Related Professions will also receive an Alumni
Certificate from the SHRP Alumni Foundation.
Is my name on the
upcoming Graduation List?
Upcoming expected graduation lists are maintained
by Enrollment Services. You may contact Enrollment
Services at (973) 972-5454 to confirm receipt
of your submitted Application for Graduation.
How
can I get my certificate or diploma?
If you have been cleared for graduation, you
are eligible to receive your certificate or
diploma after your actual graduation date. You
must be cleared of any holds on your account
(i.e. accounts payable, financial aid, library
loans, or student loans). You can pick-up your
certificate/diploma at the Enrollment Services
Center or may request to have it mailed by completing
the Certificate/Diploma
Release form.
Do I have a certain
timeframe to complete (i.e. 3, 4 or 5 years?)
to complete my degree requirements?
Please visit the section entitled "Academic
Program Maximum Time Frame", found on pages
26-27 of the SHRP 2006-2007 Student
Handbook for your specific programs' timeframe
requirement. If you will not complete your degree
requirements by the allotted time designated
for your program, you should advise your Program
Director and Enrollment Services.
I will not graduate
in May, can I still attend the Commencement
ceremony?
If you graduated in January or are expecting
to graduate in May or September of the current
year, you are eligible to attend the annual
Commencement
ceremony in May. PhD students must complete
their dissertation requirements
prior to Commencement if they seek to walk
at the ceremony. PhD students may walk the following
May if he or she will be a September graduate.
My.UMDNJ
Portal Answers
How
do I access the website to view my grades and
get a printed copy of my transcript?
You may view your grades and online transcripts
through accessing the My.UMDNJ portal account
and print out an unofficial copy of your transcript.
For an official transcript, you should submit
a Transcript Request form to Enrollment Services.
This form is available on the Forms
sections of the SHRP webpage.
I can't register
on-line, I have tried to log in and my user
ID or password seems to be incorrect!
If you are experiencing difficulty with accessing
your My.UMDNJ account, you should contact the
UMDNJ Technology Service Center at (732) 743-3200.
If you incorrectly attempted to access your
online account more than three times, you will
need to request your My.UMDNJ password be reset
by the UMDNJ Technology Service Center.
I tried to drop my
course in the My.UMDNJ portal under my Web for
Student account but it wouldn't let me. How
can I withdraw from this course?
The My.UMDNJ portal will not allow
you to withdraw form all of your courses (reducing
to zero creidts) therefore you must submit a
Change
of Student Program Status form (pdf) to
Enrollment Services. Please indicate on the
form one of the following: Continuing Program
Status, Maintaining Matriculation, Offical Withdrawal
From Course, Offical Withdrawal From School
or Offical Leave of Abscence.

What are the Enrollment
Services office hours?
The Office of Enrollment Services is opened
Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm. The
Enrollment Services Center is located in Room
147 of the Stanley S. Bergen building on the
Newark campus.
I do not remember
receiving an SHRP Student Handbook, how do I
get one?
If you did not receive a Student
Handbook, you should contact your Program
Director or you may request a copy at the Enrollment
Services Center. You may also find the SHRP
Student Handbook online.
How can I view the
SHRP Academic Catalog?
The 2006-2008 SHRP Academic
Catalog is accessible from the SHRP website.
What are some additional
