SHRP Summer Research Student Interns

Note: Notification will go out shortly for the 2009-10 academic year. All dates are subject to change and will be updated as needed.

Timeline

  • Official Announcement - February 2, 2010
  • Applications Due - April 1, 2010
  • Project Descriptions posted online and sent electronically - April 15
  • Student Selection Period - April 15 - May 7, 2010
  • Student Deadline to submit notification - May 7th
  • Student/Faculty Interview process - May 7th - May 20th
  • Summary statement due from Faculty - May 21
  • Notification of Awards - June 1, 2010
  • Half funding disbursed by - July 1, 2010

Projects:

Stipends to SHRP Students to work on Research Projects with Faculty Members during the summer.

Amount of Stipend:

Stipends of $2,000 will be awarded to each student who completes an agreed upon course of work in a six to eight week period during the summer.

Eligibility:
Interns must be SHRP Students, with preference given to students who are less than half way through their Graduate Program. Faculty Researchers must have a terminal degree which includes a Research component. Research must be approved by the proper Institutional Review Board.

1. Procedure (pdf)
Please review the procedure for applying for Summer Research Student Interns.
2. Initial Application form (doc)
This form initiates the process and submits your application for consideration. Once approval is received the summary statement follows.
3. Summary Statement template (doc)
The summary statement form (SSF) includes project research information and student information for the Office of Research. Also, it will be used to process and track payments and coordinate activities with other units.
Action sheet (pdf)
