Francine
Bates, MS, LPC, CPRP, CRC
is an Assistant Professor and Employment Consultant for the
Integrated Employment Institute in the Department of Psychiatric
Rehabilitation and Behavioral Health Care at UMDNJ. She provides
employment services, training and technical assistance for
consumers of mental health services, providers and families.
Ms. Bates has extensive experience providing exemplary employment
services to people with psychiatric illness and other disabilities.
Previously, Ms. Bates was Program Manager of a supported employment
program, an employment counselor for the Department of Labor
and an employment specialist for an employment and training
funded program. She recently co-authored an article, published
in the American Journal of Psychiatric Rehabilitation
, “Making Employment a Priority in Community Mental Health:
The benefits of Demonstrating Direct Employment Practice.”
Ms. Bates is a member of New Jersey Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Association (NJPRA), United States Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Association (USPRA), and American Counseling Association (ACA).
She serves on the National Association on Mental Illness (NAMI)
board in Atlantic County.
