PARTIAL CARE PREVOCATIONAL TRAINING SERIES
The Integrated Employment Institute (UMDNJ) and the Career Connection Employment Resource Institute (MHANJ) have jointly developed a training curriculum that meets the staff training requirement set forth in the NJ regulations for partial care settings regarding the delivery of prevocational services. Individuals working in the partial care setting should attend these sessions in the order in which they are scheduled. The complete series comprises a total of 12 modules. We will offer the first 6 of these modules during the current training calendar (fall 2008) and will schedule the remaining 6 modules in the winter/spring of 2009.
TRAINING IN THE DELIVERY OF EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Employment services for individuals living with psychiatric disabilities have long been recognized as a key recovery-oriented service. In this era of “system’s transformation” more and more service providers are exploring strategies to integrate employment services into their programs. Trainings in this series are best suited for staff currently working to deliver employment services (e.g., PACT programs) and/or other providers looking to increase employment outcomes for the individuals they serve (e.g., residential programs).

Introduction
to the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
With the growing emphasis
on the concept of recovery and recovery-oriented
systems of care, there is an increasing
demand for clinicians to promote empowerment
and wellness self-management skills. The
Wellness Recovery Action Plan, or WRAP as
it is commonly known, is an individualized,
self-directed monitoring tool developed
by consumers of mental health services to
promote empowerment and design plans for
maintaining wellness. A structured system
for monitoring distressing and troubling
symptoms or experiences, WRAP helps individuals
develop strategies or action plans to deal
more effectively with these experiences.
This session will introduce the underlying
principles of mental health recovery, the
major components of WRAP as developed by
Mary Ellen Copeland, and the use of WRAP
in achieving employment and/or education
goals.
